PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Ambassador to the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan, visited Utah's World Trade Center and the headquarters of the major industrial company DoTerra as part of his working trip to the state, the Armenian Embassy in the U.S. reported.
The meetings focused on economic and technological cooperation.
At the World Trade Center, Ambassador Mkrtchyan met with the center's President and CEO Jonathan Freedman. Also in attendance were Miles Hansen, Executive Director of the Sterling Foundation, and entrepreneur and professor Paul Ahlstrom.
During the meeting, the ambassador addressed recent developments in Armenia-U.S. economic and political relations. Freedman noted that Utah is seen as a leading platform for technological collaboration. The sides agreed to take specific steps to deepen cooperation.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan also met with David Stirling, Founding President and CEO of DoTerra. They discussed potential areas and directions for collaboration.
As part of the visit, the ambassador toured DoTerra's headquarters to familiarize himself with the company's various operations. At the end of the meeting, he expressed gratitude to David Stirling for more than 15 projects implemented in Armenia through the Sterling Foundation.
As part of his working visit to Arizona, Narek Mkrtchyan also held a separate meeting with Arizona House Representative and Chair of the International Trade and Appropriations Committee Tony Rivero, discussing prospects for enhancing economic cooperation between Armenia and Arizona.
